Paithani is a hand-woven silk saree with a rich, ornamental zari. It is characterized by borders of an oblique square design, and pallu with a peacock design. This handwoven Paithani silk saree in saffron base indulges in authentic kalamkari drawn in popping earthy colors. The kalamkari concept employed is called "Aranya" depicting a forest scene surmounting various animals, trees, flowers, etc. It also has a hand-embroidered marodi border all over the saree in a vibrant contrasting purple color. Saree was woven in Yeola, Maharashtra, kalamkari was drawn in Sri Kalahasthi,Andhra Pradesh and embroidery was done in Kolkata. This saree is a true artistic reflection from various parts of India. Kudos to our artisans for handcrafting this piece with utmost finesse. The weaving of a Paithani saree could take between 18 to 24 months, giving in to the expertise of diligent handweavers. This saree is impeccable in all senses.
